I bought this based on the good reviews from so many people and thought I would splurge and buy a teether. While my 6 month old son likes it, so do my dogs. It smells just like a rubber dog toy and even has the same kind of squeaker that many dog toys have in it. So now we have to train our dogs to leave the toy alone when they can smell it so easily when our son has it. This is not a major deal for many, but be aware if you own dogs; they will think it is for them. Hopefully my two small dogs won't snatch it from the baby since they probably think it's theirs. Other than this issue, he does like chewing and sucking on it and it is easy to hold.

Sophie is cute and great for my daughter. She likes to suck on her face and feet and recently starting chewing on her ears. I wish this item were cheaper and I'd buy another one for her child care provider to keep handy. Sophie is very soft and I love that it's not full of chemicals! That alone makes it worth the money to me when looking at teething items. Hopefully the price will drop so we can get another!

My little girl loves her Sophie. I have tried other teethers and she wouldn't have anything to do with them. So I gave up and bought Sophie. Love all about Sophie but the price. A little pricey for such a small toy. But of course, it has been worth it.

Omega 3 and Pregnancy - Boost Your Baby's Brain

For years, one of the first things a doctor does after confirming your pregnancy is to prescribe special prenatal vitamins. This is because most people don't eat a perfectly balanced diet every day, and during the formation of a new life you want it to have all the advantages possible. While it might not be appropriate for every couple celebrating Valentine's Day, if you are considering proposing to your girlfriend (or boyfriend, for that matter) then Valentine's Day gives you the perfect excuse.

Take her out for a meal at your favourite restaurant and hide the ring in a glass of champagne (just make sure she sees it before she takes a swig!). Or suggest a romantic walk and pop the question along the way.

2. A romantic weekend to Paris
Or a romantic weekend anywhere for that matter! We're sure that whisking them off to New York, Prague, London or a secluded place in the country would be equally welcome. It's the fact that you're getting away together that really matters.

Wherever you go, just remember the little extra touches that will make it an unforgettable romantic getaway. Order a bottle of their favourite wine or splash out on a bottle of champagne. If the restaurant has a hotel attached, why not extend the evening into an overnight stay?

6.An evening to yourself
If you and your wife or husband or partner have children, sometimes the most romantic thing you can do, is to arrange for a relative or friend to have the kids overnight. Having an evening to yourselves to cuddle up in front of the fire can be utter bliss.

Even if you don't have kids, an evening in, can be equally romantic. Cook a special meal for the two of you or, if you want a complete break, order a takeaway. Why not dress up as if you were going out to a restaurant?

Alternatively, you could just cuddle up on the sofa with a good bottle of wine and your favourite film.

7. Champagne and chocolates
It may not be the most original gift but we're sure that your loved one will still be impressed if you present them with a bottle of champagne and box of chocolates.

Presentation is the key to making this gift even more successful. Have them delivered to his or her house or make sure you wrap them beautifully before delivering them yourself.

If budgets allow, champagne and chocolates could be just part of the gift, which could include a romantic meal and overnight stay - or is that just wishful thinking on my part?

8. A huge bouquet of flowers
Again, flowers are a traditional gift on Valentine's Day and usually a very welcome one for the lady (or man) in your life. While a dozen red roses are usually hailed as the most romantic flowers to send, there are other ways to make your floral gift special.

Find out what her favourite flowers and colours are and instruct the florist to feature these in the bouquet. As well as having a special stone, the month in which you were born also has a special flower. Do some research and include the flower that relates to her (or his) birthday in the bouquet. We're sure that your loved one will be impressed not only by the flowers but by the effort you've made.

9. A single red rose or a balloon
Not everyone has an unlimited budget. A single red rose or a Valentine's Day balloon shouldn't break the bank.

What's more, if you get the presentation right, one red rose can be equally as romantic as a dozen. After all, it's the thought that counts.

10. A romantic walk
Okay, in the middle of February in this country, a romantic walk could well end up as a wet, windy and miserable trudge through the countryside. But the whole point of this gift is to get away and be by yourselves.

If the weather does permit, then a walk can be a great way to spend time together with no distractions other than the beauty of your surroundings (and of course each other!).

But it's worth having a backup plan in place, just in case rain stops play!

My 5 month old daughter LOVES her Sophie the Giraffe toy! This toy is absolutely wonderful in every way. Sophie is made of soft rubber and makes a pleasant-sounding squeak whenever any part of her body is squeezed, so even a young baby can elicit a reaction from the toy with minimal effort.

I don't know what it is about Sophie, but whenever my daughter plays with her, she gets very vocal and talkative.

I saw another review which referred to this toy as "a glorified dog toy". That reviewer is mistaken, and simply doesn't realize the value of this toy.

- Sophie's body, while soft, has several areas of thicker rubber (the nubs on her head, her ears, and her feet) which are perfect for teething babies to gnaw on for relief.
- Sophie's contrasting colors (spots) are visually stimulating to a baby.
- She is easy to grip given her long, thin neck.
- This toy is made of 100% natural rubber and uses food-grade paint (SAFE!).
- This is a quality baby toy which will last for many years.

I would much rather pay for a safe, engaging toy for my baby, than pay for some piece of junk with lead paint.
